Mr. President,
I am writing to you for the third time, hoping that this letter reaches you in good health and with the necessary attention. I promised to write a letter every month until I receive a response from you, and I am committed to this promise. I write to you today with persistent concern and an increased sense of urgency.
At this time, as we celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the independence of our beloved country, it is necessary to remember the great sacrifices made by our martyrs to ensure a free and dignified life for us. They sacrificed their lives so that we could live in a sovereign, respected, and prosperous country.
Today, we face many challenges. We must unite and confront these challenges with determination and resilience. We must live up to the ideals for which our martyrs fought.
One of the major challenges we face is maintaining our national unity. It is a fundamental value that was the driving force of our struggle for independence. In these times when divisive forces seek to sow discord among us, we must remember that our strength lies in our unity.
Another crucial challenge is economic and social development. We must work together to create opportunities for all Algerians, especially for the younger generations. Education, employment, and access to healthcare must be absolute priorities.
Let us continue on the path of unity and sacrifice, and let the flag of Algeria’s freedom fly high among the nations. Happy Independence Day to all Algerians, and a thousand greetings and peace to the souls of our honorable martyrs.
Mr. President, as the guardian of the Constitution, you have the solemn duty to protect our country from internal and external threats. The Constitution grants you several crucial responsibilities, including the preservation of national security, the promotion of public order, and the protection of our borders. These duties cannot be taken lightly, especially in the face of the growing threats I highlighted in my previous letters.
Since my last correspondence, the situation has only worsened. The increasing presence of Moroccan immigrants in Algeria, linked to the relations with Israeli intelligence agencies, continues to pose a serious threat to our national security. Criminal activities such as drug trafficking and human trafficking are multiplying, exacerbating social and economic problems and threatening the stability of our country.
The recent acts of sabotage, including the fires in wheat crops attributed to Moroccan elements, have disastrous repercussions on our agricultural economy and food security. In the face of these threats, it is imperative that concrete and decisive actions are taken immediately.
Therefore, I remind you, Mr. President, of the urgent measures I propose:
- Imposing a visa requirement for Moroccan nationals to better monitor migration flows.
- Expelling Moroccan nationals involved in illegal or subversive activities.
- Strengthening customs and border controls to prevent drug trafficking and human trafficking.
- Severing consular relations with Morocco to protect our national interests.
Mr. President, I am aware of your intention to run for a second term. Allow me to assure you of my continued support for your actions and reforms, which have contributed to the progress and prosperity of our country. However, I must express my profound disagreement with your current handling of the issue of illegal Moroccan immigrants in Algeria. Clear and decisive decisions must be taken to protect our country from the dangers it faces.
On this 62nd anniversary of our independence, we must honor the memory of our martyrs by taking the necessary measures to preserve the sovereignty and security of Algeria. The responsibility that rests on you as President of the Republic is immense, and we rely on your leadership to guide our country through these difficult times.
I once again ask you, Mr. President, to keep me informed of the measures your administration plans to take to address this concerning situation. Transparency and accountability are essential to restoring the trust of our citizens in our government.
Awaiting your response, please accept, Mr. President, my highest consideration.
Belgacem Merbah
