23 questions for Algeria's political leaders and those who think the situation is under control

In June 2023, I posed 23 direct questions to Algerian political leaders and those who believe the situation is under control. Our nation stands at a critical crossroads, and it is imperative that our political officials take full responsibility for the decisions they make.

The experience of governance under President Bouteflika has shown us the dangers of accountability lapses. Today, the situation is alarming and requires immediate action.

I would like to clarify that our goal is not to sow discord or call for protests. We are aware of the significant challenges facing our country, especially with the approaching elections in September 2024. Our aim is to urge the president's team to wake up and take responsibility for the concerns raised through our 23 questions.

We call on all citizens who care about the future of our nation to join us in demanding transparency and accountability from our leaders. Together, we can build a better future for Algeria.

1. Can the movements of 1.2 million Moroccans in Algeria be monitored?
2. Why doesn't the state require visas for Moroccans?
3. Why does the state tolerate illegal employment of Moroccans in Algeria: no taxes paid, no social security contributions paid, and a lot of hard currency leaving Algeria?
4. Who ensures us that Moroccans in Algeria do not communicate with Mossad for spying on Algeria?
5. How can we say that the Moroccan people are brothers while they believe that Bechar and Tindouf are Moroccan territories?
6. Does Morocco exploit its citizens in Algeria to implement its Machiavellian schemes against us?
7. Morocco does not pay its bills, with unpaid arrears amounting to several billion dollars. Why doesn't Algeria terminate the electricity contract?
8. What is the benefit of closing borders while facilitating the entry of Moroccans into national territory?
9. Why was the gas pipeline suspended while electricity supply to Morocco continues at a highly competitive price?
10. Morocco aided terrorists during the Black Decade. Why has Algeria never retaliated?
11. Why doesn't Algeria arm the Polisario?
12. Why doesn't Algeria declare the border area with Morocco a military zone?
13. Why does Algeria continue to work with foreign companies investing in Morocco, considering Algeria only as a market?
14. Why doesn't Algeria bomb Indian hemp fields in Morocco?
15. Why does Algeria allow Moroccan intelligence to operate freely in the coastal and desert regions?
16. Morocco has established the Al Magharibia channel, which works to destabilize Algeria. What is the Algerian state's response to this hostile action?
17. Morocco intervenes in Algerian domestic politics, such as during the Hirak. Where is the Algerian state's response?
18. Who froze the giant El Hamdania port project?
19. What is Algeria's strategy in the Sahel and the Sahara?
20. Why doesn't Algeria deploy its armed forces beyond its borders to defend its vital interests?
21. Why doesn't Algeria make Tamanrasset a regional development center?
22. Why doesn't Algeria pay Mauritania to sign a defense agreement securing the Tindouf-Zouerate route?
23. Why doesn't Algeria impose an air embargo on Western Sahara to support the Polisario?

These questions reflect serious concerns and require deep consideration from our leaders to ensure a stable and prosperous future for Algeria.

The CIA declassifies a document that reveals Morocco's true motives in the 1963 Sand War

The recent declassification of a CIA document dated August 23, 1957, sheds new light on French intentions regarding oil fields in Algeria and plans for post-independence Algeria. This document provides valuable details on French economic and political strategies, as well as the geopolitical dynamics of the era. French Intentions for the Algerian Sahara According to the document, France intended to retain the Algerian Sahara at all costs, planning to divide it into two separate departments. This decision reflects the strategic importance of this resource-rich region for France. The Sahara, with its vast oil and gas reserves, represented a major economic stake. Infrastructure Strategy and Cooperation with Spain France did not plan to build pipelines to the north of Algeria to avoid any energy dependence on an independent Algeria. Instead, discussions were underway with Spain to evacuate oil and gas via Western Sahara, then under Spanish control. The Spanish authorities, enthusiastic abou...
